REVI FERRER. THE ARTIST

I am Revi. I am a self-taught artist. I found my artistic calling early on amongst the museums and concert halls of Riga, Latvia. My parents spared no time by inserting me into various art schools and design study programs. My journey through creativity is quite colorful. After finding my first place in the creative world at a prominent architectural firm in Riga, a change took me to London's Fashion Industry. A dive into the Fashion pond turned out a great catch when I landed on Vogue and Marie Claire's pages with my designs for Old Gringo Boots. But Fashion could hold me for only so long, and I found herself answering the call to buy a canvas and start painting.

In no time, I developed my style, and I was creating a formation of Linear paintings that encompass a little bit of Fashion and a little bit of architecture.

Taking the Nashville art scene by storm, where I currently reside, I focused on doing what the universe has intended me to do: CREATE ART. I continue to investigate design with my paintbrush, which in and of itself is odd because, as a child, I favored pencil rather than paint and found the medium to be messy and complicated to use.

I feel that The Artist is someone who accesses genius via intuition, creativity, and courage. I naturally challenge the status quo and rebuke the notion of living within the mean. For me, creation is the most vulnerable form of personal sacrifice. Art feels like pouring emotion out of the soul out into the negative space, the birth of an idea, emotion, and an entity that never existed before that moment. Art is the absolute practice of our most basic humanity.

Combining aspects of the linear and painterly painting styles, which are often adverse, I have opened the door to a new and fantastic way of visiting everyday objects. It is more of an experience than just seeing, and my work is more of an exploration into the many layers that make up the dynamic and driven Revi Ferrer.

And that's not all. If you would like to learn more about me and have a sneak peek of my new art pieces, visit my INSTAGRAM acc and follow up :) See you soon!

FRIENDS OF INEFFABLE ART

TOM BLACK

Wine Collector, International Wine Personality

"I can’t say enough about Revi’s art. The three pieces she did for me represent some of the greatest wines ever made. Every time I look at these pictures in my home I am reminded of what an Awesome job the wine maker did with their art in the bottle.

The first picture was of three of the greatest Italian wines ever made. 1961 Gaja, 1968 Sassicaia and 1955 Biondi Santi. Always named among the greatest Italian wines ever made.

The second picture reminds me of my first love in wine American Cabernet. Again maybe the three greatest American Cabernets ever made Before 1985. Of course the Stags Leap is the wine that won the Paris Tasting in 1976. The BV and Heitz always named among the greatest.

The third picture is of Burgundy. Many would qualify as the greatest Burgundy of all time but I picked my three favorites. I think few would argue that 1999 La Tache is a wine for the ages.

Thank you Revi for memorializing my memories, to keep in my home, to enjoy the rest of my life.

Yeeeehaw!"

President & CEO at Nashville Wine Auction

"When I was introduced to Revi Ferrer last year, I was struck not only by her talent as an artist, but by her generosity and desire to join in our Nashville community.

It’s very exciting to find an artist who can express understanding and total respect of great wine in a piece of art.  Revi has created this magnificent piece which was inspired by Nashville Wine Auction’s l’Eté du Vin logo.  It represents some of the greatest wines (and vintages) in the world from France, Italy, Germany, Portugal and the US.  She has generously donated it to be auctioned at l’Eté du Vin 2021 to raise funds for cancer research, patient treatment, and caregiver support.

Thank you Revi."

"This amazing painting by Revi Ferrer was commissioned by me to represent the 5 Cult wines that Robert Parker named Cult wines from California to match the 5 First Growth Bordeaux’s of France. This is the moment that my wine Business started. In the mid 90’s. I can’t tell you how excited I am to have my great friend paint this for me, and to have this painting to remind me everyday of my beginning."

"I got to meet Ms. Revi Ferrer at an art event in Hollywood. I was instantly taken by her work. With Revi’s delightful personality, it wasn’t hard that we became friends from there. At my annual 2017 Nomad’s Christmas Cooking Party, I asked Revi if she would just dabble some paint on a canvas instead of cooking a dish. To my surprise, Revi did a full-on masterpiece painting of my 1961 Austin Healey Bugeye. I can’t be more grateful. It is truly one of my most prized possessions, It is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. Revi’s painting continues to reward me and everyone that’s near it."

"Revi’s work strikes me much like when one views lightning or a brilliant sunset as if for the very first time. There is a gasp, and then, sheer awe. It was a few years ago when I first became acquainted with Revi through my friend Tom Black. I came to his home to deliver a gift of food. Walking the hallway towards the dining room, my eyes took in three immense canvas’s lining the corridor. I was astounded by the brilliant capture and likeness of three bottles on each canvas depicting the world’s greatest wines from California, Burgundy, and Italy. “Blown away” is a lacking descriptive when it comes to relating what I felt while viewing these remarkable images. Tom must have heard me gasp, knowingly recognizing the reaction, said: “Come in the kitchen and meet the artist.”

It is a rare moment when you meet someone for the first time and feel an indescribable connection, a kindred spirit. I felt this when meeting Revi. I understood in a moments time that Revi is not just an artist. She is art in every sense of the word. She is a creative force of nature. She breathes art, she speaks it, she lives it.  She is the definition of art, itself.

My 1979 Cristal piece was gifted to me by Revi and Tom. I feel so blessed and fortunate to possess a piece so special and significant to me for a number of reasons. Most meaningful, 1979 distinguishes the year I began my journey as a Chef. And Cristal always reminds me of my friend, the late, great Billy Ray Hearn.

Thank you Revi, thank you Tom for this ineffable piece of art."

Chanel Lover

My Revi Ferrer Chanel piece was gifted to me by my dearest friends as an incredibly special birthday present, who all know that I have been fascinated forever by all things Chanel. It is hung in a place of honor where I see it every day, and it still takes my breath away at the sheer beauty of it. Revi’s art is amazingly alive. She has captured the allure and essence of the magic of the art of perfume itself. Just looking at the beautiful bottle brings to mind the pause, the choice, the scent… the promise of a dazzling romance or a happy occasion. I love so many of Revi’s creations, they proclaim her destiny. Thank you, my dear friends and Revi for mine!
